Carol Ann (Provencher) Stuntebeck

January 2, 1946 – June 11, 2023

Carol Ann (Provencher) Stuntebeck, lifelong resident of Cloverdale, Minnesota passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 10 days. Carol began her career working in the insurance industry, most would remember her contagious smile as she greeted people with her wit at the front desk of DePetros in Nashwauk. Carol soon realized her true love and passion was cooking and she was well known for her art of cooking. Family favorites included sarmas, Mexican meatballs, stuffed mushrooms, potato salad and her classic fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Carol worked in several commercial kitchens in both the private and public sector, the most recent was the Mesaba Country Club of Hibbing up until her retirement. Those who she mentored in the kitchen were lucky to have her as their protégé. When Carol wasn’t in the kitchen you would find her enjoying time with family, playing bingo, fishing,

gardening, or enjoying a cold tap beer at the Vene-Qua. Carol will be remembered for her kind heart, strength, and integrity. Words her children use to describe her are beautiful, caring, pure, strong, dedicated, independent, resilient, and nurturing.

Carol is survived by her husband of 47 years Frank Stuntebeck, children, Dennis (Stacy) Mackey, Rhonda (Dana) Johnson, Carol Ann (Shane) Clancey, Frankie (Echo)Stuntebeck, Jenny (Dan) Mandich, Terrance Stuntebeck, Jonathan (Jessie) Stuntebeck. 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Brothers: Kendall (Gail) Provencher, and Jack (Karen) Provencher. Sisters: Sharron Laakso and Audrey (Bill) Lake, numerous extended family, and

friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Ellen and Hector Provencher, brothers Ted and Roger Provencher, sister Inez Straw, grandson Dennis Mackey Jr and her beloved dog Fergie.

The Family would like to thank Fairview NP Colleen Wallis, Fairview Home Health Care and Hospice and Dougherty Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Carol will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Teresa Savich will officiate.  The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday.  Interment will be in Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk, MN.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
