Carolyn M. Johnson

Carolyn M. Johnson, age 81, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her residence in Hibbing, MN. She was born on June 26, 1944, in St. Paul, MN, to Chester and Florence Paul.

Carolyn graduated from Hibbing High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Dewey Johnson on August 21, 1965, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing. Carolyn worked in the food service industry her whole life, starting out at Scott's Dime Store, she later worked for Kmart where she would continue her employment for over 20 years. She enjoyed ceramics, scrapbooking, fishing, reading, music, and dancing with Dewey. Her grandchildren were the most important thing to her, and she loved to spoil them.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey Johnson, Hibbing, MN; children, Lisa (Jimmy) Edwards, Willis, TX, Chad (Leanne) Johnson, Virginia, MN; siblings, Clara Metzer; grandchildren, Brianna (Cam) Gallagher, Audrey Johnson, Maddy Johnson, Izzy Johnson, and Cash Johnson.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandy Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and interment will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN. An informal gathering will be held at Mike’s Pub in Hibbing immediately following the interment.
