Byron C.J. Carlson, nine months, of Hibbing died Sunday, December 4, 2011 in McDavitt Township. He was born on February 8, 2011 in Hibbing to Jon Carlson and Cindy Rewertz. He was known for his very beautiful smile which often grabbed anyone’s attention. Born pre-mature, Byron beat the odds. He had an undeniable strength and determination to live.
He is survived by his mother, Cindy Rewertz and father Jon Carlson, his paternal grandparents, Gary (Gladys) Carlson, and maternal grandparents, Wanda (Dennis) Minerich, great grandparents, Helen (Henry) Vold, and Dorothy Bell, brothers, Taylor Jerkovich, Terrell Carlson, and his sister, Bryanna Carlson, all of Hibbing. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Susanna (Gordon) Hogg, Donna (Calvin) Christofferson, grandfather, Thomas Rewertz, and great grandfathers, Donald Bell, and Lloyd Rewertz.
Funeral services for Byron will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
