Arlene M. Thompson

Arlene M. Thompson, age 100, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, MN.

She was born on April 23, 1925, in Dentable, MN to Rosco and Eva (Brenning) Williams. Arlene was a member of the Hibbing Community Senior Center, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1221 and the Sons of Norway. She was active in the Musical Groups, Dick and the Tag Along & Singing Group Novelty Band. She also belonged to the Rebecca’s in international falls, and others. Arlene enjoyed crafting at the Memorial Building in Hibbing, especially knitting and crocheting. She always loved spending time with her family at gatherings, traveling and playing cards. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing. On February 20, 1945, Arlene was joined in marriage to Ralph Thompson, they enjoyed 45 years of marriage until Ralphs passing in 1990.

Great Great loved spending any time she could with all her grandkids.

Arlene is survived by her children, Ervin (Suellen) Thompson, Carol Lee, Eva (Neil) Mayer; grandchildren, Denise (Dave) Persson, Brian Lee, Stacy (Jeramia) Kasten, Jennifer (Dave) Lindula, and Colleen (Jack) Jones; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Alexis) Persson, Madison (Isaac) Rocha, Isabelle (Mike) Persson, McGuire Persson, Gabriel Katsen, Abigail Katsen, Isaac Katsen, Landon Lindula, Logan Lindula, Kyle DeRosiers, Katarina Jones, great-great grandchildren, Mila and Rowen Rocha and one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Thompson; daughter Dolly; siblings, Ervin Williams, Dorothy Edwardson; brother-in-law, Nels Edwardson; sons-in-law, Bob Fluguear and Terry Lee.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kevin Olson will officiate the service and interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN.

We would like to thank the nurses that took care of our mother at the Hibbing hospital.
