Archela Lydia Maria Cobb

Archela Lydia Marie Cobb, age 87 of Hibbing and formerly St. Paul, MN passed away at her home with
family at her side on Wednesday, November 29 th , 2023. She was born in St. Paul on April 1 st , 1936, to
Archie and Antoinette (Combs) Perteet, one of 11 children. Archela grew up in the Twin Cities and
graduated from St. Paul Central High School and continued her education at college.
Archela was a mother of seven children – A loving Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, and Aunt.
She found joy by sharing family time playing cards, cooking, and crafting. She was well known for telling
stories and jokes with her family and friends. We all have heard the “and then I put the cat in the paper
bag and gave it to Roy for lunch” story many times, it was a favorite.
Archela loved being outside in her yard, planting flowers, pulling weeds, and making her yard beautiful
and welcoming.
She loved going to the casino and bingo, fishing, and road trips. And she had other favorites too: mashed
potatoes and gravy, fried blue gill, and cabbage soup. Archela was lively and laughed a lot. She was very
loved.
Archela is survived by her children Linda Cobb, Brenda (Antonio Trujillo) Traylor, Debra (Calvin Franklin)
Sallet, Mark (Victoria) Cobb, Lisa Cobb, and Archie (Tammy) Cobb; her siblings Joan Thompson, Gene
Perteet, Duane Perteet, Renee Brown, Rickie Perteet, Daryl Perteet, Cheryl Jones, Karon McSween
Sanigular.
She is preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter Olivia Archela Cobb and sisters Charlotte Bower
and Antoinette Kennedy.
A private interment will be held at the Oakland Cemetery in St. Paul December 15th , 2023.
