Listen to Obituary

Alice Marie Littler, 89, of Nashwauk, MN, passed away peacefully with family at her side on September 16, 2026, at Guardian Angels in Hibbing, MN. Alice was born at home in Bay City, WI, on August 30, 1937, to Lyle and Sadie (Morrison) Andrews. Her family moved to Bemidji, MN, where she graduated from high school. After graduating, Alice worked briefly as a dental assistant and loved spending her hard earned money on beautiful clothes. She soon met the future love of her life, Roy Littler, at a barn dance in Bemidji and they married on May 16, 1959. Together they moved to Nashwauk where they settled down and started a family. She and her family had a small country farm in the Cloverdale community north of Nashwauk where she deeply cared for and was dedicated to her animals, especially her cattle. Alice prepared taxes locally for many people, friends and families all over her community. She even had her own office in downtown Nashwauk at one point and was eventually able to work from her home office where she finally retired. Alice loved her family, community and church. Her faith was of utmost importance to her, which she lived by daily and it was evident to all who knew her. Alice was a true prayer warrior. She was a mother to all who knew her while always being good and fair to others. Alice was giving, kind and always gave excellent advice as she was inspirational to those around her. Alice also loved to bake, garden, can goods, and of course make her special homemade bread that filled her home with the most incredible smell. In later years as her mobility slowed, Alice could stop traffic, part a crowd and have the most handsome of men tripping over themselves to open doors for her. Her charm and grace allowed her to be independent and persevere for years. She was the strongest woman her family ever knew, and even in her weakest moments, she was a pillar of strength.

Alice is survived by her children Lonnie Littler, Mary Jo (Roger) Weber, Roxanne (Greg) Rengstorf, siblings Ruthie (Chuck) Smith and Len (Jack) Vermerch, grandchildren Samantha (Greg), Brady (Michalina), Annika (Jeremy), Blessing (David), Kirk (Megan), Sarah (Jeremy), Mandy (Jim), Chris (Ashley) and Nicole, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Sadie, Husband Roy, daughter Debra "Debbie" and siblings Lyle "Sonny" and Judy "Babe".
