Agnes C. Eddy

Agnes C. Eddy, age 96 of Hibbing, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN. She was born on January 11, 1930, in Togo, MN, to Rome and Ellen (Sjoholm) Scofield.

Agnes was a lifelong member of the Hibbing Community whose life was defined by her faith, love for family, and dedication to serving others. She married the love of her life, Theodore Eddy, on January 17, 1948, in Bear River, and they raised three children together. A member of the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Agnes faithfully volunteered with funeral lunches, offering comfort and compassion to families in their time of need. She found joy in gardening, baking, berry picking, making lutefisk, and spending time at the casino, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Brad) Anderson of Tucson, AZ, Duane (Mary) Eddy of Waite Park, MN, and Marlene (Greg) Barto of Hibbing, MN; sisters, Irene (Rich) Hardy of Hibbing, MN, and Faye (Ralph) Schmidtke of New Hope, MN; sisters-in-law, Margaret Scofield, Ardith Eddy, Dianne Eddy, and Judy Luedtke; grandchildren, Randy (Ann) Williams, Brian (Celeste) Williams, Vicki Wittmer, Nathan (Dana) Anderson, Eric (Linnea) Barto, Nicole (Russ) Radika, Marcus (Rachel) Barto, Jeff, Warren, Charlie (Rage) and Neal Anderson, Kristie Stephenson; 25 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted Eddy; infant daughter, Marilyn Eddy; brothers, Ray, Richard, Butch, and Melvin Scofield; sisters, Gladys Griffiths, Shirley Hugger; brothers-in-law, John Griffiths, and Buz Hardy; sisters-in-law, Fran, Donna, and Shirley Scofield

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and Pastor John Dietz will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN.
