Aaron J. Sampson, age 36 of Hibbing passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2026 after a long struggle with mental illness and addiction. He was born June 13, 1990, to Donald and Denise (Carlson) Sampson in Hibbing. Aaron graduated with the Hibbing High School Class of 2008 and later went on to attend Lake Superior College to pursue welding. Most recently, he worked for Timberline Drilling as a drill assistant. He previously ran Aaron Sampson Painting and was also the proud owner of TNT Lawn Service, which he ran alongside his family for three years. In his younger years, Aaron enjoyed hunting with his grandpa up at the family farm, ripping through the fields on his dirtbike, playing hockey, golf, and baseball, ice fishing and snowmobiling with his buddies, and had a love for anything with an engine. Aaron always loved spending time at the family cabin on Beauty Lake, whether it was casting a line off the dock or sitting by the fire watching the sun set. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Patricia (James) Carlson and paternal grandparents, Albert and Helen (Barach) Sampson, Uncle Ross Salminen, Uncle Tom and Aunt Nancy Sampson, cousins Jeff Sampson and Melissa Hadrava, and the greatest dog, Snickers.
