Edward E. Mickelson, 58, of Nashwauk passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Fairview Range Medical Center ER. He was born in Hibbing August 1, 1960, to Eino and Dorothea (Demings) Mickelson. Ed lived his whole life in the Nashwauk area and loved deer hunting, genealogy, and playing with his dog Kirby. Ed was an avid hockey and football fan. He loved posting pictures and sharing funny memes on Facebook. Ed was also a proud Finlander. He enjoyed teaching people Finnish words and found humor in learning all the swear words. He had a school bus-yellow truck that he was also very proud of and would joke that you could see it from the moon. Edward is survived by his wife, Kelly (White) Mickelson, children, Kassie (Jimmie) Hilborn, his tytar (daughter in Finnish), Jenissa (Joey Schultz) Mickelson and his poika (son in finnish), Blake Mickelson, siblings, Rose (John) Marolt, Zimmerman, MN, Melvin (Mary) Mickelson, Evelyn Mickelson, Peggy (LD) Hallmark, all of Nashwauk, Darrell Drinkwine, Bovey, grandchildren, Alyssa and Emily Hilborn, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Eino and Dorothea. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Nashwauk Lutheran Church.
