Gary James “Krump” Krampotich
Gary James “Krump” Krampotich, 64, Kelly Lake, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by love after a long hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born to Mike and Marie Krampotich of Kelly Lake on Jan. 22, 1953.  He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1971.  He attended UMD Where he earned his degree in accounting, and went on to become a CPA.  He worked for the City of Chisholm until he retired in2015.
He married his high school sweetheart Vicky, and together they went through life hand in hand.  They were each other’s best friend.  You rarely would have seen one without the other.  They were married for 43 wonderful years.
Gary, or as most people knew him as, ‘Krump” loved sports of all kinds.  He was a loyal supporter of Hibbing Boys Hockey.  He was a member of the Swan Lake Country Club and the Hibbing Curling Club.  He managed and played for the Sammy’s baseball team, fast pitch team and men’s hockey team for many years.  He loved hunting and fishing and going to the hunting shack every fall.  He loved picking blueberries but his greatest joy was giving them away.  He was a very honest, loving, caring husband, father grandfather and friend who will always be missed.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Vicky, children: Rachel, Amber (Matt) Lang, Kami (Justin) Ellingson, Kyle (Tiffany Huddleston) and our “like a daughter to us”, Jody (Eric) Cooper, Grandchildren: Vincent and Max Ellingson and Jackson Cooper, all of his many wonderful friends, and his siblings: Annie, Rudy, Gene, Margorie and Jack.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Mickey, Bobby, Stephen and Martin and a sister Eva.
Funeral services will be held Wed. Sept. 13, 2017 at 12 Noon in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing.  Visitation will be in the church, Wednesday from 10:30 until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Vicky and Family, I can't express my thoughts for Gary. It was a joy to work with him each and every day. To talk Twins, the cabin, and hunting. I will miss him and his humor.

Lived across the street from the Krampotich family in Kelly Lake in the 60's. Spent a couple of summers hanging with Gary, Bobby and Stephen. Happy memories. Condolences to his family. 😢
