Robert John Smith
Robert John Smith, 69, Nashwauk, formerly of Hibbing, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Fairview Range Medical Center.  He was born in Thief River Falls, MN to Perry and Mabel (Berg) Smith on November 12, 1947.  Robert had been employed as a Propane Serviceman and was the owner/operator of the Wagon Wheel Tavern in Hibbing and known for his love of Cooking and Catering.
He is survived by his children, Brian (Michele) Smith, Iron, MN, Brad (Jolie Goebel) Smith of Homosassa, FL, and Susie (Tony) Curtis, Hibbing, four siblings, Kenneth (Peggy) Smith, Donna (Marvin) Lease, and Shirley (Sherman) Kolden all of Hibbing, and Margaret Bowles in Arkansas, 5 grandchildren, Briana Smith, Cole Axelson, and Alyssa, Emilee, and Kaeden Smith.  Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, Doris Swenson, Richard Smith, and Gordon Smith.
Funeral services will be held Noon Monday, August 7, 2017 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, with visitation one hour before the service.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

To the Smith Family,
Deepest Sympathies for the loss of Bob. He was a wonderful man and a dear friend. We will cherish the time we spent with him and enjoy the memories of our times together. We will miss his funny personality and, of course...all his great cooking!

So sorry to hear about Bob, he was a great guy and member of our family.
I'm very sorry I can't make it to the funeral but we are into wheat harvest now.
I beleive Bob lived a full life and enjoyed himself and loved his family very much.
He will be missed by many and our memories of him will live on forever, like when he would see me , he always said " Oscar baby", ( I always hated that name :)

So very sorry for your loss. Bob was a good man and a great cook. He will be missed.
