Lindsey Mae Gonzalez, 17, Hibbing, passed away Saturday, April 28 as the result a tragic auto accident near Toivola,  MN.  She was born June 14, 1994 in Ely, MN, the daughter of Gerry Gonzalez and Carol Brierley.  Lindsey moved with her family to Hibbing in 1999 where she attended the Jefferson Elementary, Lincoln Middle and Hibbing High schools.  An active person all her life, Lindsey enjoyed sports.  She played soccer, basketball and participated in track and field.  Lindsey's other hobbies included cooking with Skinner and Gram Gram, taking walks with friends, and fishing with Dad.  Lindsey was always a kid at heart. Her favorite times were spent watching kid’s movies like Winnie the Pooh, making funny faces, laughing like a loon, just being a spontaneous goofball, and loving to make people smile.  She enjoyed working at Super One with her awesome coworkers.  She will be greatly missed and will always be loved by the close friends she has.
She is survived by her mother Carol Brierley of Hibbing, her father Gerry Gonzalez of Lindville, IN, her sisters: Rachel (Jim Schnortz) Simmons, Isabele Gonzalez and Gabrielle Gonzalez all of Hibbing, her maternal grandparents Diane and Phillip Haburn of Babbitt, MN, maternal great grandmother Eva Jane Haburn of Osakis, MN, her extended family, the LaBarges, including; Lois and Larry LaBarge and  Leonard, Lisa, Lynda, Alyssa, Ryder and Dustin LaBarge, also Thomas and Renee Lalonde, aunts and uncles Sean Haburn of Babbitt and Shannon (Brian) Shin of Chantilly, VA, and cousins Preston and Bryson Shin and Alyx and Jordan Haburn and her great aunt and uncle, Vonda and Ted Schreffler. She is also survived by her many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Marilyn Gonzalez and maternal Great Grandparents Arnold Haburn and Doris and William Hasselblad.
A celebration of Lindsey's life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 in the Hibbing High School Gym with the Rev. Roland Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday evening in the Dougherty Funeral Home and also Tuesday in the gym from 2:30 p.m until the celebration. Lindsey, I still have the letters and drawings you and Rachel sent me years ago when you were little, I will treasure them always. Even though we never met I feel as I know you through your grandparent Diane and Phill. You will be greatly missed by everyone. All my love your friend June in England xx

We at Grove Studio want to express our sympathy to the family and friends of Lindsey. We had a great time when we photographed her. We got to know Lindsey and Kelsey a little bit more. If you would like to have the 16x20 print we have of Lindsey on display. Please feel free to call and you can surely have that in memory of her.

Aaron told me about Lindsey''s passing Wednesday night. My heart goes out to her parents, sisters, all other family and friends. I remembered seeing Lindsey when she was just a little girl and she was beautiful then as a little girl and again as a young woman. I am so sorry for the loss of this precious and talented young girl. Please accept my condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.
