Lloyd H. Nordstrom, 62, Hibbing, died Friday, April 20, 2012, in his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Hibbing, to Lloyd H. and Betty Nordstrom.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Deborah, of Hibbing; 4 children: Christopher Nordstrom of San Diego, CA; Brian (Michelle) Nordstrom of El Paso, TX, Michael Nordstrom of Hibbing, and Jessica Nordstrom of Hibbing; his mother, Betty Nordstrom of Hibbing; 2 grandchildren, Donovan and Austin; and 2 sisters, Edie Cappo of San Diego, CA and Jayne (Larry) Astrom of Vero Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his father.
At Lloyd’s request, instead of a funeral service, there will be a gathering of family and friends at his home, 10534 Hwy 37, Hibbing, on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from Noon—5 PM. Lloyd and I graduated from Hibbing H. S. and we enlisted in the U. S. Navy
with Earl Rootes in 1967. We were good friends and shipmates on the USS Long Beach, CGN9 for approximately 2 years. We had alot of good times together and he will be sadly missed. In our memories and in our hearts, love lasts forever. Lloyd was an amazing father. Though I knew him of a man of very few words, he always carried an outstanding presence of compassion towards his family. His smile, his heart, his love, will be greatly missed.
